Eight years after Company Of Heroes 2 was released its sequel will finally be released to PC next year.

Relic Entertainment and Sega announced the much-anticipated sequel to Company Of Heroes 2 which is dubbed Company Of Heroes 3 with an announcement trailer:

The developers of this long-awaited Real-Time Strategy game have already made a pre-Alpha preview build of the game which you can access here. The preview is live now until the 2nd of August at 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET / 3 am BT (3rd of August). The Company of Heroes 3 preview will be available only on Steam, and if you don’t already have one, you’ll need to sign up for a free Relic link account.

The original game was released in 2006 and received rave reviews and gained multiple awards. Company Of Heroes received two expansions Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor and then in 2013 we were graced with a full sequel Company Of Heroes 2 and now in 2022 fans will be getting the third installment in the franchise Company Of Heroes 3.

The Announcement trailer is filled with action in the wartime setting of Germany occupied Italy as the allied forces invade. It highlights the ground combat with troops and armored vehicles.

In multiplayer, you’ll be able to play as the German, British, and American armies, but in the campaign, you’ll only be playing as the Allies. The campaign is turn-based and takes place on a large terrain with discrete objectives that you can explore and conquer in your own way.

New factions, strategies, and stories have been announced, as well as new mechanics like a full-fledged pause button that allows players to “coordinate all of their actions at once, thinking through every move in detail without the burden of performing it all in real-time.” Naturally, this pause button will only be available in single-player, but it should allow you to contemplate and prepare ahead during intense moments. More dynamic, non-linear maps will be included in the game, providing for more distinguished gaming opportunities.

Another new feature is “breaching,” which allows players to command an infantry unit to break into occupied structures and kill or throw out opposing units stationed within which was demonstrated in the announcement trailer. There’s also a new destruction system that allows buildings like churches and villas to crumble and fall with realistic physics and sounds when sufficiently damaged.
