According to a Spider-Man 2 actor, the game only used about 10% of Venom’s recorded dialogue. Over the weekend, Venom actor Tony Todd attended Fan Expo San Francisco to discuss Insomniac’s sequel. Todd claimed during a panel, according to the tweet below from an attendee, that the developer only used about 10% of his recorded dialog for the final version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

As you can see from the tweet above, the current speculation is that Insomniac is saving Venom’s dialogue for a future project involving the character. There’s nothing from the developer to suggest this, and it’s possible that Venom’s role in Spider-Man 2 was originally intended to be larger before being reduced.
Todd also apparently revealed in a follow-up tweet from the same Twitter user that he recorded dialog for scenes in which Miles Morales had a “symbiote.” This is essentially the ‘Venom suit’ that Peter Parker and Harry Osborn have at various points in Spider-Man 2, so it appears that Miles wielded the suit at some point during development.

Speaking of villains, when we spoke with Peter’s actor, Yuri Lowenthal, he expressed a desire for an Across the Spider-Verse Spider-Man 3. “We’ve all played Portal and Portal 2,” Lowenthal said, describing how a battle against the villain Spot could play out, even though he admits that Insomniac is unlikely to include the character.
