The game has been delayed once again, this time it will launch a week later than expected.
Frictional Games has announced another delay for Amnesia: The Bunker, their upcoming survival horror game.
The game is now set to be launched on the 23rd of May 2023 instead of the last known date of the 16th of May.
Frictional Games dropped the bombshell via tweet stating:
It will be set during World War 1 with the player taking on the role of Henri Clément, a French soldier who attempts to solve the mysteries of the bunker while trying to escape.
As described by Frictional Games, the game consists of semi-open-world elements that are randomly generated, allowing for greater replayability.
Additionally, The Bunker introduces several new mechanics that differ from previous Amnesia games, like the ability to craft and defend yourself with a revolver.
There are many horror titles from Frictional Games, including Penumbra: Overture from 2007, Amnesia: The Dark Descent from 2010, and SOMA from 2015. Amnesia: Rebirth, the company’s most recent game, was released in 2020.
In another departure from the series, objects, threats, and resources change each play through, so that the experience is more unpredictable.
Survival requires exploring and experimenting with the tools at your disposal – including a noisy dynamo flashlight and a cumbersome revolver.
In addition to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the game will also be available via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
