The next installment of Apex Legends called “Eclipse” will bring many new things to look forward to

Having debuted in 2019, Apex Legends has been a huge success and Respawn is getting ready to release its 15th season. Eclipse brings a new legend, a new map, and a long-awaited new feature to the game.

The release date for the new season is set for Tuesday the 1st of November.

The usual update can be expected in the new season including a new battle pass which will bring a range of new cosmetics and challenges.

Catalyst:

Catalyst is the new legend coming to season 15

One of the new additions dropping with the new season is called catalyst!

Catalyst is a brand-new legend that will be joining the roster. She will have a new range of abilities that can be seen in the new trailer. As per usual Respawn hasn’t actually listed her abilities yet but there are plenty of hints in the video.

Her main weapon seems to shoot a thick sticky black sludge-like substance to subdue her enemies. She also puts up a gigantic wall that Loba’s squad cannot see through, which we consider being an obvious ultimate ability. Not only that but when the supercharged Octane runs through it, they’re clearly slowed to a crawl. Also, we see that Loba’s scan does not appear to work on the big wall, so perhaps it has vision protection as well.

As is tradition with Apex Legends they will probably show us a full gameplay breakdown before the new season starts giving us more information.

New Map – Broken Moon:

We also know that there will be a new map coming in the new season called Broken Moon. This beautiful new map will include two new main features namely Zip RTails and Giant POIs.

The Zip Rails are essentially giant trains that allow you to travel quickly across the map. This train differs in that you ride it like a zipline and can shoot at others from the hip as you travel across the moon.

The Giant POI’s on the other hand are larger less frantic drop points where you can avoid other players for longer and gain loot more consistently. On the other hand, the Giant POIs are bigger, less hectic drop sites where you may stay out of other players’ way for longer and get loot more frequently.

Broken Moon does, however, still have a number of conventionally sized POIs, so if you enjoy early battles, there is still something for you.

Broken Moon map

The origins of the Broken Moon are as follows:

“Three decades ago, as foretold by an ancient prophecy, Cleo, the moon of Boreas was struck by a comet. While this brought debris and chaos to the world below, the Broken Moon also presented a unique opportunity to experiment with terraforming technology. An atmosphere was created and a Stasis Net installed to try to hold what remained together and prevent the apocalypse for the planet below. But as the public lost interest in funding their work, they turned more and more to privatization – and eventually, the deep coffers of the Apex Games.”

Gifting:

Apex Legends Gifting Feature

It has been officially confirmed that fans will finally get the gifting feature with the new season. With Apex Coins, you may purchase single objects and gift bundles from the store to give to your friends in-game. Don’t anticipate to be able to shower loved ones with weapons and character skins or anything similar because there is a 24-hour gift limit.

You must fulfill the following requirements in order to use the gifting feature:

  • You will need to have login verification turned on
  • You must be account level 10
  • You need to be in-game friends with gift recipients for 2 weeks
  • Both gifter and giftee must have accounts “in good standing”

Luckily this feature is not region locked which gives you the freedom to gift anyone globally.

Stickers:

Stickers

Another new fun feature is the stickers. This will be a new permanent cosmetic you can add to items such as health stims and shield cells. Unfortunately, we don’t know how to earn them yet, but this will surely become clear when more news becomes available.

One sticker only may be equipped per item, and the position is locked. Several stickers created by Respawn artists, some of whom you might recognize from Moy Parra, will be available at the start of Season 15.

There you have it folks if you are a fan of Apex Legends you have a lot to look forward to in the new installment and you can be sure we will be covering any updates from Respawn Entertainment.
