Apex Legends has proven it’s popularity is still rising, hitting almost 200,000 concurrent players.

Apex Legends is now in its 8th season which has seen a boost in the player count of Apex Legends on Steam and has made it the fifth most played game on Steam.
Apex Legends spent nearly 18 months as an EA Origin exclusive and on Saturday it reached its highest concurrent users according to SteamDB.
The game arrived on Steam in November 2020 and in only 5 days it rocketed its way to the top 10 games in the number 4 position and has managed to stay in the top ten.
Some of season 8’s popularity could be down to the resurgence of Caustic in the Meta. Even though Respawn are toying with the idea of making some changes to him in the coming season.
A part of the popularity of the new season could also be pinned on the arrival of fuse who is the newest Ozzie legend that joined the roster this season.
The other aspect that could have played a part in all the renewed interest in the game could be the return of the popular King’s Canyon map.
The game is also in the top ten of the most-watched games on Twitch, surpassing FIFA 21, CS: GO, and Valheim.
The anniversary collection which is currently running until the 2nd of March includes the Locked and Loaded takeover.
This has players start with level one gear including Mozambique, White Shotgun Bolt, HCOG Classic Scope, White Evo Shield, White Helmet, White Backpack, White Knockdown Shield, two Syringes, two Shield Cells, and a stack of shotgun ammo.
Regardless of the reason for the sudden interest, the proof is there that Apex Legends is in the running for the top spot in the Steam Top Ten games.
With so many extra added features included in the game currently, it isn’t hard to see why there are so many more players spending time on it.
This shows that Respawn is dedicated to the maintenance of the game providing new seasons, events, and fun features for fans to enjoy. Will Apex Legends be able to maintain its spot in the top ten or move up to beat out the more popular games.
