There is plenty more to come for the open-world Survival game that is Ark.
Ark: Survival Ascended will be out on Xbox next week, although PlayStation fans will have to wait a little longer.
It comes from developer Studio Wildcard, who provided a game situation for open-world survival development on the official forum.
The team says it’s on track for a November 14th release, and as we get closer to the day, you’ll have a better idea of release times and such.
“The Xbox version will be up-to-spec with the latest PC functionality as of November 14, and will launch directly into cross-play with the PC version (along with new servers, including Xbox-only servers),” Studio Wildcard said.
As for the PlayStation release, that will happen after the developer finalizes the details with Sony, although hopefully we’ll be waiting for the end of November. “We know it’s not ideal, but we’re optimistic that we’ll be able to share a meeting soon!” the developer says.
The Ark: Survival Ascended team also shares that console release plans will change once the survival game debuts on Steam. Cross-platform support is on day one, official servers for the respective game modes come with higher prices to help everyone, and console servers are also coming for more obvious reasons.
Ark: Survival Ascended launched on Steam last month just like Evolved – to rave reviews and plenty of performance complaints. Working to smooth this out as more fans get their hands on the brilliance of Unreal Engine 5.
