Bumfluffski: The Self-Proclaimed “Shiny-Headed, Bearded Variety Streamer From South Africa”

This content creator and Twitch streamer has over 4,000 Twitch followers, and for good reason.

His now-daily streams are entertaining to watch and cover a wide range of themes and games. From just playing his favourite games online to the “Hot Noods Challenge” his aim is to delight and enthrall his viewers.

We wanted to know more about this enigmatic streamer and caught up with him for an interview that went down like this:

Who is Bumfluffski and what is your backstory?

“I am a community-centric content creator with the aim of bringing more professional working relationships into the content space. I want to make content creators more professional, helping them to become more brand-friendly and understand their value whilst working with brands to show them just how much value there is in the content creation space.
I am a variety streamer that plays games, hosts musical streams (Bum Jam), and is working on several other projects that will add some exciting content pieces to talk about in the next interview 😂
I began streaming about 5 years ago without actually knowing. I saw a broadcast feature on my PS4 and used it (a lot), streaming almost daily without knowing where my streams were being shipped off to. I stopped being lazy when more and more viewers would stop by and eventually started falling in love with building the Bumfluffski brand.”

What is your role in the gaming community?

“I like to think of myself as one of the biggest fans in the SA scene. I love our creators and their content, creativity, and passion. There is nothing better than hearing someone dropping some South African slang after hitting a shot or being on the receiving end.
The SA scene is young, full of exceptional content creators who either gritted their teeth through the pandemic or started creating content because of the pandemic. The potential here is unmatched, the value for brands is exceptional and I’m really excited about the future of this scene!”

What is your favourite genre of game?

“I’m a bit of a mixed case but I’d say FPS because most of the games I play are FPS games. My favourite game at the moment has to be Rocket League though, whatever genre that fits into” 😂

What is your preferred gaming platform?

“I recently moved to PC in October 2021 and haven’t looked back. Before that, I was on PlayStation 4 for the loooongest time.”

What is your favourite thing about gaming?

“The escape! I find it fascinating how we all dive into gaming to forget the bad day we’ve had or the pressures of the modern world. With the pandemic, we saw a huge upturn in gaming as a place to connect with people when human contact was the most difficult it has been in our existence.
We made friends, we shared special moments and some of us started building careers in the space. Gaming is a remedy to so many of life’s toughest moments.”

What are your current projects and what do you have planned for the future?

“I wish I could share the stuff I’m working on but I am blessed to be working alongside digital agencies and brands to bring more opportunities to the community.
One of my biggest projects is enhancing the Featured Project which is a weekly feature of one of the community’s most supportive creators. I believe that the biggest supporters should get the biggest support and want to reward those that go out of their way to change someone’s day by backing them.
Each week the community nominates someone that has gone above and beyond and we, as a community, show up to all of their streams and bombard their socials with love.
We’ve partnered with incredible brands and individuals to close the gap between brands and creators, getting them to work together and build experience for all involved.
I’ve also started coaching and mentoring serious content creators, guiding them towards a more strengthened brand, building their value, and shaping them into professionals.
As a chartered accountant, I think I bring a unique value to the scene and I want to use it to grow creators and assist brands in obtaining value beyond their expectations from using our content creators. There’s a lot of work to do and that makes me excited!”
