Over 100,000 and a New All-Time High on Steam
Following the recent turnaround of Battlefield 2042, which managed to reach a new high in player counts, it appears that it is now Battlefield V’s turn, as the era shooter released back in 2018 has now managed to reach over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam alone.
The ever-reliable Steam Charts revealed this data, which showed the 24-hour peak to be at over 111,000 concurrent players, which is now the game’s new all-time high on Steam.
The massive increase in players appears to be due to the game’s massive sale on Steam, where Battlefield V is on sale for just R63.99 ($3.99). Needless to say, this is a fantastic deal for the shooter, which has received mostly positive feedback on the platform. Remember that this number does NOT include the console numbers, which should be in the thousands.
While Battlefield 2042 set a new all-time high with the release of Season 6, that number has since dropped slightly, but it remains at a respectable 50,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. Again, keep in mind that these figures exclude consoles and other platforms, implying that the figure is even higher.
While new content for Battlefield V is extremely unlikely, there is a chance for another season of BF2042. EA hasn’t said anything, but a DICE developer recently said something that appears to be hinting at a Season 7 announcement.
Battlefield 2042, like Battlefield V, has managed to turn things around since its release. It’s undergone so many changes that we had to re-evaluate the game this year to account for them.
