Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Control 2 is officially being developed.
After the runaway success that was Control. It seems Remedy Entertainment is back at the grind of developing the sequel.
The company has confirmed that it is working on Control 2, which will be co-developed and published with 505 Games. The game, which was once known as Codename Heron, is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in the near future. Currently, the sequel is in the concept stage of development and will use Remedy’s Northlight engine.
Game Director of the Control Franchise Mikael Kasurinen said in his statement:
Rami and Raffi Galante, co-CEOs of 505 Games, have described Control as the “biggest investment” the publisher has ever made. They said the $51 million deal with Remedy will continue the “success story” of Control. Remedy will publish the game for the PC, and 505 Games will publish it on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game has sold more than 3 million copies since its launch in 2019. They then later released an enhanced edition for PC and Consoles.
In addition to Project Condor, a co-op multiplayer spin-off set in the Control universe. Remedy is also working on Alan Wake 2, scheduled for release in 2023. Fans can also look forward to remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 in partnership with Rockstar Games.
