Modder Claims Their Work Was Used Without Credit, Sparks Outrage Among Fans
The launch of Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection has been marred by controversy, with allegations surfacing that fan-made mod content was included without proper credit. Modder iamashaymin took to Twitter to voice concerns, stating that their mods for the PC version of the original Star Wars: Battlefront 2 were allegedly incorporated into the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions of the collection without acknowledgment.
One of the contentious points highlighted by iamashaymin was the use of their mod, which introduced the Xbox-exclusive character Asajj Ventress to the PC version as a reskin of Aayla Secura. The distinct attacking animations of the characters led to discrepancies in Ventress’s appearance in the Classic Collection’s PS5 version, as noted by Reddit users. However, iamashaymin asserted that they were not credited for their work in any version of the Classic Collection.
Further fueling the controversy, iamashaymin shared footage showcasing Kit Fisto, another Xbox-exclusive Battlefront 2 character they modded into the PC version, allegedly running on the Nintendo Switch version of the re-release. The modder expressed frustration, feeling insulted by the apparent use of their mod content without proper recognition, despite previous assurances from developer Aspyr.

Aspyr had previously stated that no uncredited content would be included in the final release, attributing the inclusion of such content in pre-release footage to a mistake. However, iamashaymin’s claims suggest otherwise, raising questions about the handling of fan-made mods in the Classic Collection.
