Cozy Grove, the one-of-a-kind Relaxing, Hidden Object, life sim game that everyone is talking about was released today worldwide.
It has been called “Animal Crossing’s Haunted Neighbour”, and even PC Gamer commented saying:
“Out of all the games that sprout up when talking about Animal Crossing… I’ve found that Spry Fox’s relaxing Cozy Grove is the closest. It has everything you could want from a life-sim.”
This cute little game was developed by Spry Fox and has been likened to Animal Crossing: New Horizons although also very unique in its own right.
Cozy Grove was released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC today across the world and it already has many singing its praises.
Cozy Grove is described as “a life-sim game about camping on a haunted, ever-changing island. As a Spirit Scout, you’ll wander the island’s forest each day, finding new hidden secrets and helping soothe the local ghosts. With a little time and a lot of crafting, you’ll bring color and joy back to Cozy Grove!”
The game has a very clear structure where players need to pick up daily tasks from the spirits on the island, each having a clear end goal.
Cozy Grove is the stress reliever we all need in these tough times and with daily goals to complete it will give players a purpose to look forward to every day.
The island you inhabit is called the Titular Island and is also inhabited by ghost bear-like creatures who have lived there for a long time.
You play as a “spirit scout” which is similar to a girl scout and you collect badges for your green sash as a scout would. You will be tasked with different things each day, such as helping the island’s ghost mail-bear find lost mail — to bring life back to the colorless island.
When you complete a task helping the ghostly inhabitants they will give you spirit wood which you give to a sentient campfire named Flamey which consumes them. This in turn causes the flames to illuminate the world which turns it into a beautiful, colourful lush version of itself.
Flamey also spreads his flames at this stage revealing new parts of the world and more spirits to help you out. Some tasks include: Finding lost things for the island inhabitants, Fishing, harvesting resources, and collecting items. The game has a 40+ hour campaign filled with many side quests thus designed to span across several months of Playtime.
The world of Cozy Grove has been described as “so charming” and after all, you have just read it surely makes one curious as to what the fuss is all about.
