There’s a “great team” working on it
Do you believe it? It’s been more than two years since Crytek announced a new Crysis game was in the works. I can’t believe it either, though that could be because there hasn’t been much news. They did make an announcement earlier this year that they were looking to hire more developers for the project, but other than that, it’s been pretty quiet. We don’t have much to say on that front either, but in case you’re wondering, the project is still in the works.
Speaking to MP1st about Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown, David Fifield, the studio’s General Manager, provided a brief update on the project.
David Fifield stated: “Crysis 4 is currently still in development and we have a great team working on it! We will update once we have more details on it down the line.”
Although there isn’t much to go on, it’s still good news for all Crysis fans out there.
When we’ll get to see it is anyone’s guess. It’s been two years since the development announcement, but that’s not a long time, especially for a title that many consider to be significant. Not to mention all of the technological advances that have occurred since Crysis 3 was released over a decade ago.
Not to put any pressure on the studio, but I’m sure many are excited to see how far they can push visuals, as Crysis 1 is still regarded as one of the most realistic games. I know some aspects have aged, but for a 2007 game, it’s still quite impressive.
Although I don’t mind a surprise reveal at this year’s The Game Awards, I think we’ll hear more about it eventually in the next year. Dreams are possible, right?
