“new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements”
CD Projekt announced earlier today, November 30, that update 2.1 for Cyberpunk 2077 will be free when the Ultimate Edition is released next week, on December 5. To find out what’s in the update, we’ll have to tune in to a CD Projekt livestream tomorrow, December 1.
On December 5th, the same day Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition hits the shelves, we’ll release a free Update 2.1 introducing new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements. 🔥

Surprisingly, this is the first time we’ve heard of a new update for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt announced in September that it was nearly finished with the RPG after shipping and updating Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty earlier that month. Nobody expected this update 2.1, whatever it contains.
We'll talk about it on the stream 😉

According to the original tweet for the livestream, update 2.1 will include “new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements.” We have no idea what CD Projekt is working on after all the new elements that were featured in Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 for free, such as the redesigned Skill Trees, and in Phantom Liberty as a paid-for update, such as the Relic Skills.

We can safely assume that, once update 2.1 is released, CD Projekt will be fully committed to both The Witcher 4 and the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. CD Projekt stated earlier this month that it wants its games to be “something that we’ve never made at this scale,” implying that the new Witcher game will be massive.
