CD Project Red has announced the updated PC system requirements for Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty.
Phantom Liberty, a forthcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, was revealed on the 6th of September 2022, with its anticipated launch date set for the 26th of September 2023.
The updated system requirements have been formulated to ensure they are current, incorporating compatibility with recently released GPUs that were not initially accessible. Additionally, they are aimed at achieving a resolution output of either 1080p or 4K for particular in-game presets.
CD Project Red said about the new updated specs:
“The changes to the minimum requirements are a reflection of our new standard of requirements, which we believe better represent the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at low preset. The reason for making these changes is that updating the requirements is an important part of the game improvement process, and of enhancing and adding new features.”
Among the alterations made, a notable change is the decision to discontinue support for HDDs in the minimum requirements. The preferable alternative to HDDs are SSDs, which offer faster loading times, improved streaming capabilities, and superior overall performance.
It is crucial to emphasize that this does not imply the game will cease functioning on the previous minimum requirements.
However, after the upcoming update to the base game, the support for those requirements will be discontinued. And the game will cease to undergo testing on such configurations.
