The Director behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and other major titles including Black Flag, Unity, and Origins Eric Baptizat will head up the Dead Space Remake.
Its been confirmed after hearing rumours and whispers that Ubisoft veteran Eric Baptizat will be working on the Dead Space Remake we have all been waiting for.
For those that aren’t familiar, Dead Space is a Survival Horror game that graced our screens in 2008. The game is set on a mining starship invaded by monsters known as Necromorphs, and the player takes control of engineer Isaac Clarke from a third-person perspective as he navigates the vessel, kills Necromorphs, and battles escalating madness.
Through a chapter-based storyline, the player explores several regions on the station, solving environmental puzzles while searching for ammo and equipment in order to survive. As a weapon, Isaac uses engineering equipment.
The game received a generally favourable reception all around and gained many fans along the way. Eurogamer, Game Informer, GameSpot, and GamePro, among many others, gave the game rave reviews, demonstrating that it was highly embraced by the gaming community.
Eric Baptizat is best known for his work on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but has also worked on such titles as Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Shaun White Skateboarding, James Cameron’s AVATAR, and Surf’s Up. Fans will surely have faith in his and the rest of the team’s abilities to bring the Dead Space Remake to life, especially with such big names on his resume.
Eric Baptizat started working at EA’s Motive Studio earlier this year on an unnamed project. However, the Ubisoft veteran has now confirmed on social media that he will serve as game director for the next Dead Space remake. Other than Baptizat, another Ubisoft veteran, creative director Roman Campos-Oriola, is the most senior development person on the Dead Space remake.
Last month, Electronic Arts’ EA Play Live showcase revealed Dead Space, thereby confirming the long-awaited remake project.
The excitement for this long-awaited remake is strong, and based on the “teaser trailer,” which doesn’t show us much but promises the horror element that all fans are hoping for, this will be one spectacular remake.
Stay tuned for more on this exciting new Remake.
