It seems that Demon Souls will be getting a full remake on the newly released PS5.
The official announcement has come from Bluepoint Games and PlayStation’s Japan studio.
PlayStation has said that this remake would “invite players to experience the original brutal challenge, completely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced with a new ‘Fractured Mode.’
“In addition to beautiful shadow effects and ray tracing, players can choose between two graphics modes while playing: one focused on fidelity, and one focused on frame rate.”
Bluepoint Games was the studio that remade the renowned PS2 game Shadow of the Colossus for PS4.
Demon souls was never actually ported to PC or PS4 even though it has paved the way for an entirely new subgenre of punishing action-adventure game.
This new version on PS5 will be the first modern platform that players get to experience this breath-taking game on in over a decade.
The original game was developed by FromSoftware and released in 2009 in Japan first, then in North America and lastly in the PAL territories.

Demon’s Souls is set in Boletaria, a kingdom consumed by a dark being called the Old One following its release through the use of forbidden Soul Arts.
Players will take on the role of the hero, which is fully customizable at the start of the game. The hero is then brought to Boletaria to kill its fallen king Allant and pacify the Old one, do note that your customizations will affect various statistics.
Players will navigate six different areas. They start at the Nexus hub and progress onto the five other worlds on the map.
Four of these areas end in a boss fight, making for challenging and exciting gameplay that is sure to keep you hooked. Combat is highly reliant on timing for weapon strikes and blocks, with different weapon types opening up a variety of combat options and altering the player’s movement speeds.

By defeating your enemy, you will acquire Souls, which will act as both experience points to raise various statistics; and the game’s currency for purchasing various weapons, armor, and items. As you invest more time into the game, the number of souls required increases. Along with souls, you can retrieve items such as weaponry and ore for upgrading.
This news in itself is enough to entice gamers to reach into their pockets to purchase this marvel.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait patiently for a release date as nothing has been announced yet, but after all the hype and the alluring trailer, we are sure it will be well worth the wait.
