The Zir Abattoir event is ripe for transformation
Because developers listened to player feedback, Diablo 4’s infamous new Abattoir of Zir event is set to change.
The Abattoir of Zir event, billed as a super-hard event for only the most experienced Diablo 4 players, went live earlier this week as a brand new endgame activity for the ongoing Season 2. However, it has proven to be more frustrating than enjoyable, as players have complained about the time required to complete all of the event’s objectives, as well as the event’s wild difficulty spikes.
Blizzard developers have now demonstrated that they are paying attention to user feedback. Diablo 4 global community development director Adam Fletcher acknowledged the feedback in the tweet below, adding that the developers “have some changes in the works” for the Abattoir of Zir and hope to release a hotfix before the end of the current week.
The team got together to discuss some of the Abattoir of Zir feedback you all have been sending over.

We have some changes in the works. Will share more tomorrow. Goal is for a hotfix with these updates before the weekend. Thanks all for providing some great feedback!
Fletcher, however, stops short of addressing what the hotfix will actually change. Players have complained that it would theoretically take up to 300 hours to reap all of the rewards from the Abattoir of Zir, which is a monumental task for even the most seasoned players, and that the event is more of a time sink than a challenge.
This is in addition to Blizzard accidentally nerfing almost every Diablo 4 player. Because the Paragon Glyphs weren’t leveling up properly, Blizzard knocked players back several levels, effectively reducing their character’s power in the face of endgame events like the Abattoir of Zir. The problem has been resolved on PC, but console players are still waiting for a fix.
