Fans eagerly anticipating a potential collaboration between the iconic British sci-fi series Doctor Who and the immensely popular game Fortnite may need to dial back their excitement, as showrunner Russell T. Davies has debunked the rumors surrounding the rumored crossover.
Addressing inquiries about the speculated partnership on Instagram, Davies swiftly dismissed the notion, labeling it as “a complete myth” and offering no further updates or clarifications.
The speculation surrounding Doctor Who’s possible entrance into the Fortnite universe began circulating last year, particularly as the series approached its 60th anniversary special in November. Fortnite aficionados were stirred by leaks from prominent Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey as early as April, which hinted at potential in-game items such as skins, pickaxes, gliders, and emotes tied to the Doctor Who event.
Fortnite’s Chapter 5 kicked off with a substantial update, introducing players to Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.
