Swen Vincke says there is enough inventory for the Deluxe Edition
Larian advises against buying the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition from scalpers who attempt to sell it for more than retail because he says you shouldn’t be concerned about it selling out.
“Just FYI the Deluxe Edition is *not* a limited edition and stock is holding steady, with more waves being prepared within the Q1 2024 shipping window, so if you see them online being resold based on confirmed preorders at higher prices, skip it. There won’t be stock scarcity,” reads a message from Swen Vincke, the director of Baldur’s Gate 3 and founder of Larian, on X.

Vincke is presumably providing clarification because special editions of well-known video games frequently sell out quickly, creating an unfavorable market in which private resellers are selling units at exorbitant prices to desperate consumers. Given the terrible resale market for the Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector’s Edition, which frequently fetches more than $1,000 on eBay, it’s especially important to make this clear. Thankfully, it appears that this time, that won’t be the case.
A physical copy of the game, a soundtrack CD collection, a cloth world map, a poster, two fabric patches, 32 stickers, and an enormous, exquisite box “designed in the style of the original series” are all included in the Deluxe Edition. Moreover, it includes all of the extras that come with the current Digital Deluxe version.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the Deluxe Edition’s “fuck ton of discs” (Larian’s words, not mine). There are three on Xbox Series X and S, two on PS5, and three additional discs for the CD soundtrack.
