Guy Beahm aka Dr.Disrespect is in the news a lot and this time he is launching his own AAA studio with help from Robert Bowling and Quinn Delhoyo.
In a recent press release, we learned about the new studio dubbed Midnight Society which is reportedly taking a “community approach to game development” that plans to involve players and influencers at all stages of development.
Dr.Disrespect has established the new studio with developing veterans Robert Bowling the former Call of Duty creative strategist and Quin Delhoyo who was the Halo 5 multiplayer designer.
The studio is expected to rely extensively on early access, with a special focus on high-profile influencers: according to the studio’s statement, one of its focuses is “including communities and influencers much earlier in the development process” than usual.

Dr. Disrespect’s role might seem like a bit of a figurehead for the new studio but don’t forget that he was a community manager and designer at Sledgehammer Games, with credits on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Advanced Warfare before he found Online fame.
The studio will have the support of Esports entrepreneur Sumit Gupta and as they are still in the start-up phase they are naturally hiring for various positions in the company.
The Midnight Society is reportedly working on its very first title which they will announce soon and they have already launched a website, Twitter account and are on Discord as well which proves their dedication to the new studio.

Robert Bowling says of the new studio:
” players are the lifeblood of our games, and so often games get designed in a bubble, with few touchpoints for the players to help shape the final product before it’s too late. Our approach is completely open and focused on building experiences that evolve with our players.”
Dr. Disrespect also added that Midnight Society “wants to make games that defy the one-and-done publishing model and reward all those fans and influencers who make them a success.”

Dr. Disrespect is probably best known for his Twitch streams and being banned from the platform without proper explanation causing a huge uproar in the gaming community at large. He has since learned the reason for his ban but hasn’t shared it publicly but has divulged that he will be suing Twitch saying:
”I’ve known for months now the reason why and I’ll just say this right now champs, ‘there’s a reason why we’re suing the f**k out of them.’ I don’t know how else to put it. The amount of damages and you just don’t — nah, no, no.”
We first heard about the rumoured studio from a job listing on the 10th of August 2021 for a “gaming studio head”. Doc has talked about concepts for two of his studio’s first games several times since then, with one of them drawing inspiration from H1Z1 and Call of Duty.
Although we don’t know much about the first game the studio is working on we do know now that it will be a multiplayer shooter which presumably will follow Call of Duty and Halo in its mechanics.
At the moment the studio is focused on hiring and the careers page has open listings for a community manager, designers, engineers, artists, and more—all of which can work remotely. Many of the listings require at least five years experience which proves that they are aiming high and going all out with this new endeavor.
We will be keeping up with this news and will update you, the reader as we get more information.
