Other companies, including Ubisoft with its older Assassin’s Creed games earlier this month, have shut down servers for outdated games in addition to EA.

In 2008, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mirror’s Edge, the most well-known of these games, were initially made available. 2009 saw its arrival on PC. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, a remake of the game, was released in 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Unfortunately, There hasn’t been any recent news about new entries in the franchise. EA France released something regarding Mirror’s Edge last year that might have been a hint at a new game but afterward made it clear that it wasn’t.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

The shutdown of the servers will have a few repercussions. There are already fan-supported workarounds for this in games like Red Alert 3, which still have a vibrant community, that allows multiplayer. Multiplayer servers for any game that supports them will, of course, be shut down.

Additionally, it will prevent you from obtaining any achievements with an online component, and once the servers go down, these achievements will be permanently locked out.

As the list of servers going down is being revealed and some going down soon, it would be prudent to get your achievements and trophies while the servers are still up.
