EA’s New Turn-Based strategy mobile soccer game featuring real players arrives next year.
EA Sports has provided additional information about their upcoming mobile free-to-play soccer game, “FC Tactical,” set to launch in 2024.
FC Tactical is distinct, described by EA as a turn-based game with over 5,000 real players across 10 leagues, including Premier and Ligue 1. The introduction of EA Sports FC Tactical initially occurred during EA’s comprehensive reveal of its revamped football series in July.
While information was scarce initially, the publisher has now shared more details as pre-registration starts on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
According to EA, the matches in FC Tactical are “simulated with turn-based interactions.” During these interactions, players will have the choice to defend, attack, perform “skill moves,” or attempt to score a goal. Screenshots show the game’s interface, which looks like typical turn-based strategy games, featuring soccer players in sports arenas.

Reportedly FC Tactical will encompass several modes, such as online matches with friends, ranked competitions, league play, and guilds. Players will need to “develop players” to “excel in advanced maneuvers” or access specific traits.
Before hitting the soccer field, players will need to build their team, collecting and training players like Erling Haaland, Son Heung-min, Jude Bellingham, Federico Chiesa, and Virgil van Dijk.
In total, EA Sports FC Tactical will feature over 5,000 real footballers from over ten leagues, encompassing the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A.
While EA’s official press release doesn’t explicitly mention “free-to-play,” its App Store listing confirms this designation. Furthermore, it specifies a more precise release date, narrowing down the previously mentioned “early 2024” window to January 18, 2024.
This new game promises to be a fun and interesting new take on traditional mobile soccer games while also encompassing everything fans love about them.
