Gigantic: Rampage Edition Revives The Indie MOBA After Five Years Away

Gearbox Publishing and Abstraction Games Bring Back Cult Favorite with New Features and Gameplay

After a hiatus of five years, fans of the cult favorite MOBA Gigantic have reason to celebrate as the game makes its triumphant return. Developed by Gearbox Publishing and Abstraction Games, Gigantic: Rampage Edition is set to launch on April 9 for consoles and PC, bringing with it a slew of new content and exciting gameplay enhancements.

Maintaining the core five-on-five multiplayer online battle arena gameplay of its predecessor, Gigantic: Rampage Edition aims to build upon the foundation laid by the original release while addressing key issues that led to its premature demise.

One of the most notable changes is the shift from a free-to-play model to a premium release priced at $20. This decision is coupled with a promise of free post-launch updates, including a ranked mode and new hero skins, providing players with added value and long-term support.

The game will feature the return of the beloved Clash mode, offering strategic 5v5 battles, alongside a new game mode called Rush. Rush delivers a condensed version of the Clash experience, with fast-paced 10-minute matches designed to inject excitement and intensity into every encounter.

With all 23 characters from the original game making a comeback, Gigantic: Rampage Edition introduces two new additions to its roster: the gun-wielding warrior Roland and the agile feline Kajir. Players can now personalize their favorite characters through new progression features, including customizable hero/weapon skins and ability loadouts.

The game boasts a diverse array of maps, including familiar favorites and two brand-new arenas. Picaro Bay, a sprawling marina with a towering pirate ship, offers players dynamic battlegrounds, while Heaven’s Ward features an industrial-themed landscape replete with warehouses, factories, and a power plant.

Originally launched in 2017, Gigantic faced challenges that led to the cessation of development and server shutdown in 2018. However, with the forthcoming release of Gigantic: Rampage Edition, fans can look forward to rediscovering the magic of this beloved title on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Priced at $19.99, Gigantic: Rampage Edition will support crossplay across all platforms at launch, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community for players to enjoy the MOBA experience together once again.
