Guild Wars 2 Steam Release is being delayed because ArenaNet says that their number one priority right now is to craft Guild Wars 2: End Of Dragons.

Many fans have been anticipating the release of Guild Wars 2 to Steam in November.

We have unfortunately been met with the news that the Developer ArenaNet has put a spanner in the works saying that they will be putting the release “on hold for the time being”. Their reason for this is that they wish to focus on the forthcoming End Of Dragons Expansion instead.

The announcement was recently made on their blog and this is what they had to say:

“At the end of summer, we gave you a first look at the next Guild Wars 2 expansion, Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons. We have been overwhelmed by the response. Delivering this next chapter in the Guild Wars universe is our highest priority. With this in mind, we’ve made the decision to put the Guild Wars 2 Steam release on hold for the time being. Our number one priority right now is crafting Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons with the high quality you expect and deserve. Additionally, we’re full speed ahead on delivering an epic climax to The Icebrood Saga that lives up to (and we hope exceeds) previous Living World finales.”

When the Steam Release of Guild Wars 2 was announced earlier this year we told you that existing accounts won’t be compatible. This means that you can unfortunately not bring characters you’ve already made with you to the Steam Version. This will be an annoying setback for fans of the MMORPG.

What we do know about Guild Wars 2 : End Of Dragons is that when it is eventually released the story will revolve around Dragons. In the new installment, the dragons have had their day and it’s time for them to get what’s coming to them in a battle of epic proportions.

There will be numerous events to take part in, as well as many side diversions, including Beetle Racing and the newest addition to the game “Skimmers”.

Even though fans will be disappointed at the news of the Steam Release delay they can take solace in the fact that ArenaNet is working tirelessly to develop and create an amazing expansion with plenty of battle and Dragons. From what we have seen the Guild Wars: End Of Dragons expansion will be something to write home about.
