Hogwarts Legacy has been postponed previously, but this time there is a set release date, so there’s that
Hogwarts Legacy is a much-anticipated installment in the Harry Potter universe allowing players to take control of their own student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry.
The developer of this long-awaited game Avalanche software has delayed the game for a second time confirming fears that the game would be delayed again after its first delay from 2021 to 2022.
The newest release date has been set to the 10th of February 2023 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox with a “to be revealed soon “ release date for Nintendo Switch users.
In two Twitter posts by Avalanche Software community manager Chandler Wood stated: “ The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience. You may be disappointed that the game’s been pushed out of 2022,” said Wood, “but we’re excited to finally give you a release date you can look forward to.”
Some gameplay footage was released earlier this year at a State Of Play event, but since then not much was said regarding the upcoming ARPG.

The trailer showed some intriguing gameplay including dueling class, herbology, charms class, and a lot more and while your character is unlocking the mystery of the “powerful ancient magic” that has been released you still need to go through the normal Wizarding day attending your classes and meeting new characters. You are a fifth-year student so have a lot of catching up to do.
The game is set in the late 1800s and follows a student starting at Hogwarts in their fifth year. Mysterious ancient magic can be controlled by the player character, who is in possession of the key to an “ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart.” The player character will need to assist in determining why this lost magic has suddenly become popular and who is simultaneously attempting to use it.
Characters from the Wizarding World franchise, such as Nearly Headless Nick, The Fat Lady, and Peeves, can be interacted with by the player.
New characters will also be introduced to the player character, including Professor Eleazar Fig, who serves as the protagonist’s mentor. The Goblin Rebellion’s leader Ranrok and a group of Dark Wizards’ leader Victor Rookwood are two of the antagonists in the game.
Hogwarts Legacy started its development in 2018 and since then has amassed a lot of Hype surrounding the game because of the Harry Potter franchise’s popularity no doubt.
The new release date for the game is set for the 10th of February next year, but there will surely be more news coming soon for which we will be watching out so stay tuned.
