Homeworld 3 Release Delayed To May; Early Access Still Available

Gearbox and Blackbird Interactive cite additional player feedback for the postponement

Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have announced a delay in the release of Homeworld 3, pushing its launch date to May 13. However, players eager to dive into the game can still access early gameplay through the early access period starting on May 10.

In a statement, Gearbox emphasized its commitment to delivering the best possible experience for players, mentioning that they had recently enlisted external players to participate in a full playthrough of the game. The insights and feedback gathered from this session will be integrated into Homeworld 3 to enhance its overall quality.

Originally, Homeworld 3 had embarked on a crowdfunding campaign, but it was halted following Gearbox’s acquisition by Embracer Group. Despite setbacks, including multiple postponements, the game continues to progress. Its first gameplay trailer debuted at Gamescom 2022, with subsequent delays pushing the release from Q4 2022 to the first half of 2023, then to February 2024, March 2024, and now May 2024.
