This announcement means great news to Xbox Series X/S owners.

With regard to Xbox Series X/S, Crytek has made some significant announcements for Hunt: Showdown in its latest roadmap that will also have a major impact on Xbox One players.

The intention is to introduce an upgraded version of the CryEngine in early 2024, resulting in the discontinuation of Hunt: Showdown on Xbox One and PS4.

A precise date for the Xbox One shutdown hasn’t been determined, but it’s certain to happen no earlier than April of next year.

Crytek stated:

“With this upgrade, we’ll be raising both the minimum PC and console specs that Hunt: Showdown will support. The important note for console users is that with the upgrade and launches on Xbox Series X and S as well as PS5 consoles, the previous generation of consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hunt: Showdown will no longer be available for play.

The removal of PS4 and Xbox One support will not happen any sooner than April 2024, but is being announced now to give ample notice to any affected players.”

Crytek mentioned that the modifications to the minimum system requirements will impact fewer than 10% of active Hunt: Showdown players, significantly improving the experience for the remaining 90%. It appears that everything, including player history, inventories, and DLC purchases, will transfer over to the Xbox Series X|S version.

Upon the arrival of the console versions, they will offer identical content and features as the PC version. This encompasses a new biome for Map 4, challenge pools, the CryEngine upgrade, and a comprehensive UI overhaul. Some of these adjustments introduce new system requirements for the PC edition.

Players will now require either the 7th Gen Intel Gen 7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processors, along with a GPU equivalent to at least the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT.

Regarding forthcoming content, the development team conducted a live stream to provide all the details on the upcoming Tide of Corruption update.
