The much-anticipated expansion for Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is set to be released in the next two weeks.
THQ Nordic bought the game’s license in 2018, but a remaster appeared impossible given the complexities of intellectual property rights, but we got one a few years later—and we’re receiving a brand-new expansion called Fatesworn on the 14th of December.
The revelation was announced in a trailer for Fatesworn, which depicts the storyline, that takes place after the story campaign’s completion and is set in Mithros’ icy mountainous region.
Your quest will also take you back to Amalur, where you’ll have to clear out new procedurally created Chaos Dungeons that have appeared all over the map. Some new characters will be introduced as well as the return of a few old ones. The story will ultimately take you to a battle with the god of Chaos itself.

The expansion comes with a new region as well as a +- 6-hour main quest with many side quests and faction quests. There will be a new non-combat skill tree and a whole new class of weapons and armour. The level cap is also being pushed up from a limit of 40 to a limit of 50.
On the official THQ Nordic site, they stated:
“Almost 10 years ago, a legendary RPG was born: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. This year on December 14th, the journey of the Fateless One continues. After the Crystal, War has been fought and Gadlow has been defeated, the people of Amalur were hoping for peace to return to their lands.
And although peace has indeed come to Amalur, rumors of a new threat are starting to spread, rising in the far west, the icy lands of Mithros. None other than Telogrus, the God of Chaos himself has awoken and is gathering followers to throw the whole world into chaos!”
The original Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning came out in 2012 and was developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. The game featured five distinct regions, four playable races, and three class trees with 22 abilities per tree.

The game went dormant when 38 studios filed for bankruptcy and the rights were then bought over by THQ Nordic in 2018. The remaster Re -reckoning was released in September of 2020 and Fatesworn will be the first major expansion since then to be released.
There have been three DLC’S released namely: The Legend Of Dead Kei, Teeth Of Naros, and a Weapons and Armour bundle but none as anticipated as Fatesworn.
Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn comes out on the 14th of December 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 for about R320.00.
Fans of the game will have to wait and see if THQ Nordic has any more major plans for the game up their sleeve and we will be watching and waiting to bring you the latest developments on this front.
