KitiaraXVII is a Twitch streamer and content creator who is passionate about gaming and it shows, her down-to-earth and humble energy is a calming influence and attracts many people to her streams.
We are not biased here at MGR Gaming but having worked with her we can honestly say she is one of the nicest people you can meet with a professional and kind manner.
She loves what she does and it shows in her Twitch streams and YouTube videos. We wanted to do a behind-the-scenes and delve into who Kitiara really is, this is how the interview went down.
We wanted to know more about her and asked her for a short backstory:
“Kitiara is a gaming handle I adapted when I was 13years old and first started using the internet, the name is from The Dragonlance Chronicles. The character was very interesting to me when I was a teenager and one of the first strong female characters I came across in fantasy – which was interesting because I read a lot of fantasy. I never stopped loving her depth and complexity so I never even thought of changing it again, it’s now just another part of myself so would never even think of it.”
What is her role in the gaming community?
“That’s a hard one. I’ve never really thought of my role in the gaming community. But I guess some people look to me for new content and games, I don’t really think of myself as an influencer or a trend gamer, but I do play a wide variety of games in a large assortment of genres, and in things like survival I do tend to go a lot more in-depth and discover a lot, so some may come to me for advice or tips or ideas or inspiration, or simply support. Some people jokingly say they wish they could figure out how my brain worked, cause I tend to try and test things other people sometimes wouldn’t think of. I’m also good at finding bugs I guess haha. I also sometimes carry some people through some harder activities in games that I happen to be good at, I like helping people.”
Her favourite Game or genre of game?
“I would say it’s between survival and 1st or 3rd person shooter PvE games. I used to play a lot more RPG fantasy games, but I find more and more I tend to favor sci-fi or post-apocalyptic games. I occasionally dabble in horror but it’s not something I play every day. I love exploration and creation as well as some chaos and destruction so I do favor a lot of games that lets me fight as well as build. I have the most hours in Destiny 2, but games I have invested a lot of time in include Ark, the Fallout franchise, The Elder Scrolls franchise, the Mass Effect franchise, Dark Souls, and many others. Currently, Project Zomboid is my favourite.”
What is her preferred gaming platform?
“PC, always PC.”
Kitiara’s favourite thing about gaming?
“Escapism and release. I also just love coming home and losing myself in different worlds and adventures.”
What drives Kitiara’s Gaming Passion?
“I could never explain why I love gaming so much. I started gaming when I was so very young, it just always appealed to me. And while I absolutely loved reading and while I enjoy movies and series, the interactivity of gaming appeals to me. The difference is being part of it, making decisions and plans, creating your characters or even worlds, influencing the direction of the story you are immersed in.”
what are her current projects and has she got anything planned for the near future?
“Currently I am trying to rearrange my life to start streaming full time. We have been busy developing more community servers and getting some sponsors. I don’t have a set course of action as far as my streaming is concerned, for me it’s like a journey and I’m focusing on the course not the destination, mostly I just work from one small goal to the next focusing a lot on simply making improvements and growing as I come along.”
