Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the new tactical RPG from XCOM creator Firaxis Games and is to be released next year .
The game was announced during the Gamescom Opening Night Live along with its 30+ game premieres. Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released in March 2022 and is surprisingly unlike the other offerings from Firaxis Games.
The game will be completely different from any other Marvel game and will be a strategy-based game which will please all the strategy game fans out there.
The gameplay has yet to be revealed but Firaxis says to expect a full gameplay reveal as early as September, but we do know we are to expect a turn-based style of tactical combat in which every action could make the difference between life and death, success and survival.
Midnight Suns will have a much darker theme than other Marvel games fans might have experienced, set in a world full of supernatural enemies that will include vampires as well as some Lovecraftian style Horrors. So, it seems that there will be no light whimsical story line in sight, which will please the horror fans.
In keeping with the darker atmosphere of the game, the Marvel’s heroes will also have brand new looks to each of them, which will reportedly be similar to Midnight Suns’ armour. Some heroes we can expect will include Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Wolverine. Captain Marvel, Captain America, Nico Minoru, and Doctor Strange, but it isn’t at all clear if there will be more added to the roster, we will most likely see this when the final trailer is revealed before release.
You will be able to make your own fully customizable character called “the Hunter”, and it will be exciting to see what players come up with as far as this character goes.
The storyline is based off “Midnight Sons” and will see you “The Hunter” joining the other Marvel heroes to face off against the demonic forces that are seemingly led by your character’s mother, Lilith.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available in March of 2022 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4. PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
