Tekken: Bloodline will be released for Netflix and has an enticing new teaser trailer.

Netflix will soon release an anime adaptation of the enormously successful Tekken video game franchise.

Netflix is teaming up with Bandai Namco to make this anime adaptation of the wildly popular fighting game that rose to fame in the early 1990s and has since grown in popularity, attracting legions of fans.

The franchise is developed and published by Bandai Namco and has both film and print adaptations.

Jun Fighting

The main games in the series follow the events of the Mishima Zaibatsu’s King of Iron Fist Tournament, in which players control a variety of characters in order to win the tournament and gain control of the company; the series’ plot revolves around the conflict between the Mishima family, while players explore the motivations of other characters in their quest to control the Zaibatsu.

The anime series is set to premiere in 2022, and it will follow Jin Kazama as he trains on Yakushima with his mother, Jun Kazama, following Tekken 2 and before Tekken 3. Jin’s desire for retribution against Ogre through training under his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, will be chronicled in this film.

Jin trains with his grandfather.

Jin Kazama is learning the family’s self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, in this story. Jin’s life was turned upside down as a horrific evil destroyed everything he cared about.

Jin grew enraged and sought vengeance. As a result, his ultimate ambition leads him to the King of Iron Fist Tournament, where the best warriors compete on the world’s grandest stage.

Netflix officially describes the anime as: “Power is everything.”

Official teaser trailer for Tekken: Bloodline:

In the trailer, we see Jin training to fight with his mother Jun who urges him to “control his anger or it will control you”, as he fights with some local bullies getting the best of them. We then go to a scene where an ancient “demon” visits his home and bests him in a fight. He then goes in search of his grandfather Heihachi Mishima who trains him to fight in merciless training sessions for” the King of Iron Fist Tournament”.

In typical anime fashion, there is a lot of blood and gore in store for viewers. Tekken: Bloodlines looks to be an anime fan’s dream and Tekken fans even more so keeping to the original fighting style present in the Tekken games.

There isn’t much else known about the anime series’ Netflix release, such as voice actors or an exact release date, but as fans of the series ourselves, we’ll be keeping an eye on it and will report on any news regarding the series that comes up.
