Palworld Developers Talk About the Increase in Cheating Ahead of the PvP Release
As Palworld’s popularity continues to surge, so does the prevalence of cheats within the game. Acknowledging the issue, Pocketpair, the developer behind Palworld, released a statement this week addressing the rise in cheaters on the official servers. While the developer assured players that measures would be taken against cheaters in future updates, it admitted that completely eradicating cheating is “currently difficult.”
The announcement came alongside other updates for Palworld and warned players that addressing cheating would be an ongoing process, particularly as the game progresses through its roadmap. The statement was shared on the game’s Discord server and social media platforms, expressing Pocketpair’s commitment to enhancing security and creating a gaming environment where everyone can play without concerns.
“Currently, some players have been confirmed to be cheating on the official server,” stated Pocketpair. “We will apply a patch as soon as it is ready, but it is currently difficult to completely prevent all cheating immediately. We will continue to focus even more on security and aim to create an environment where everyone can play with peace of mind.”
Palworld, at present, does not seem to have an anti-cheat system like Easy Anti-Cheat, commonly found in other games. The roadmap for Palworld, which places PvP as the next significant feature, did not explicitly mention anti-cheat measures. However, with the recent statements from Pocketpair, it’s likely that anti-cheat measures have been incorporated into the development plan.
As the game is relatively new, the consequences of cheating in Palworld remain unclear. Players have reportedly resorted to various exploits and programs to gain advantages in the absence of an anti-cheat system.
