Release date, gameplay, and a lot more revealed about the upcoming First-Person-Shooter.
The game was announced at the beginning of this year and will be a sequel to the 2013 FPS Payday 2. Payday 3 is being developed by Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios.
The release date has loosely been set to arrive in 2023 a whole 10 years after Payday 2. Hopefully, we will get a more precise date soon.
There will be a wide range of systems on which Payday 3 will launch, including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The Unreal Engine makes the game identical on PC and consoles, according to Starbreeze.
Starbreeze has released a short teaser trailer that confirms the gameplay reveal will be coming this summer.
In commemoration of the franchise’s 10th anniversary in 2021, game director Erik Wonnevi revealed additional insights into the storyline of Payday 3.
Serving as a soft reboot of the series, the third installment unfolds several years after the events of Payday 2. The iconic characters Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf return, embarking on daring heists set in a rendition of New York City.
This time, they confront themes revolving around cryptocurrency, mass surveillance, and the dark web.
You can now Wishlist the game on the SteamStore.
The official Steamstore overview of Payday3 states:
Gameplay has not been disclosed as yet, but if the last installment is anything to go by, it should be a first-person team-based shooter in which you pull off heists. It is likely that Payday 3 will continue the theme of perfect execution of a plan and adapting your tactics when things go wrong.
As of now, we don’t have any system requirements, but we will update you once they’re available. For now, we await further news about this exciting new installment of Payday.
