The developer Turn 10 Studios is reportedly prioritizing graphics for the upcoming sim racing game.
Chris Esaki, the creative director, explained during the latest Forza Monthly broadcast that the game will not support split-screen, spectator mode, or AI racing.
Esaki stated:
Esaki added that the pursuit of enhanced graphics for the game demanded a comprehensive redesign of its rendering engine, creating complexities in meeting the timeline for integrating split-screen into the final product.
He reiterated this statement by tweeting:
However, Turn 10 Studios assures players that Forza Motorsport will offer extensive content to explore, including various accessibility options and plenty of single-player and multiplayer options. While split-screen is a disappointment, it is optimistic that the developer is inclined to integrate this feature sooner rather than later, avoiding a situation similar to Halo Infinite.
The official Steam overview of the impending racing game states:
“Race over 500 real-world cars including modern race cars and more than 100 cars new to Forza Motorsport. Make every lap count across 20 living environments with fan-favorite locations and multiple track layouts to master, each featuring live on-track scoring, fully dynamic time-of-day with weather, and unique driving conditions that ensure no two laps ever look or play the same.”
The planned release date for Forza Motorsport is the 10th of October 2023, targeting Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. Furthermore, it will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass starting from its initial launch day.
