After two years of teasing and anticipation, we finally have a name for the newest offering from Mimimi Games. Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a magical undead pirate-themed game that will be released later this year.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is described as a “stealth strategy” game and in the game, you will “join a ghost ship with a living soul and assemble a cursed pirate crew. “
The game is set in an alternate history of the Golden Age of piracy.
The official steam overview states:
“The Curse of Lost Souls haunts the mysterious island chain known as the Lost Caribbean, which is under the control of the terrible forces of the Inquisition. They despise all that is supernatural and use soul-devouring fire to hunt cursed pirates like you!”
Join cursed pirate Afia on a journey to find the legendary Black Pearls to revive your own cursed crew.
You will have eight shipmates which are all playable characters. They will have unique personalities and unique superpowers.
Take down the Inquisition’s army with an epic heist and salvage a mysterious treasure of otherworldly power. Find a way to infiltrate their fortresses. Sneak behind the enemy’s lines.
Utilize your crew’s magical abilities to your advantage to eliminate a variety of opponents using well-thought-out strategies.
As the captain, you command the “Red Marley”, aptly described as a “ghost ship with a living soul.” From here, you can complete individual character missions to gain insight into your crew, plan your next adventure, or simply spend time with them.
In the Lost Caribbean, you will have the opportunity to go to various exotic islands, each of which will be a different sandbox full of adventures.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is set to be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be coming to The Steamstore and Epic Games store later this year.
