The upcoming seafaring co-op roguelike is coming in November
This brand-new, thrilling action game was created by Fika Productions, a Quebec-based firm, and it serves as the company’s first release.
The publisher Team 17 recently announced the release date for the upcoming co-operative roguelike which will be released on Steam on the 22nd of November this year as well as for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox X/S.
According to the Steam overview:
“Ship of Fools is a seafaring roguelite co-op game where you play the Fools, the only creatures fool enough to brave the sea. The Great Lighthouse that once protected the Archipelago is broken and a storm of malice and corruption is coming.
Together, you and your shipmate will jump aboard The Stormstrider and make your voyage across the sea. Man the cannons, ready your sails, and protect your ship from sea monsters over multiple runs. It’s up to you to defend your home from the almighty Aquapocalypse.”
The game is built mainly for co-op and was inspired by modern classic roguelites, where You will need to work together to defend and repair your ship “if you don’t want to become fish-food”.
You’ll need to continuously defend your ship as it sails between islands by manually reloading and aiming your ship’s cannons and suppressing boarding parties with a good whack of a paddle.
You will have to carefully defend your ship because if your ship sinks the game is over so strategy is key here. If your ship sinks the game will reshuffle the Archipelago for an entirely new run.

The trailer showcases the action-packed journey you and your ship-mate will go on while fighting sea beasties, avoiding storms, and upgrading your ship to keep it from being destroyed. I really enjoyed the art style and it reminded me of Klei Entertainment and Blitworks’ “Don’t Starve”.

Between both trailers, we can start to immerse ourselves in the cute survival world that is Ship Of Fools and honestly I am excited to play the game as soon as it releases.
The only information provided regarding the game’s system requirements is that it would require a 64-bit operating system. As soon as we learn more, we will be sure to notify our readers.
