You get Skyrim, you get Skyrim, everybody gets Skyriiiiim! It’s really just Skyrim all around at this point and it’s honestly wonderful.
With the 10th anniversary fast approaching for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, could we really expect any less of Bethesda Game Studios other than for them to give us more Skyrim?
Skyrim is without a doubt the most popular installment of The Elder Scrolls series and it doesn’t seem to be slacking off any time soon. With Quakecon 2021 in full swing, the big announcement for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition was made on the very first day and has been set to release on 11 November, the exact day of its initial release back in 2011.
What Can We Expect from the Anniversary Edition?
Bethesda is known to show little nods of acknowledgment to their fan base in many ways, even by including fan easter eggs in their games. This time around though, they’re going beyond that. The Anniversary Edition is a fan celebration for all the many years of the unwavering support of the title.
TES V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will include Skyrim Special Edition (which in itself includes being a high-textured remaster and all DLCs; Dawnguard, Dragonborn & Hearthfire) and a whole bunch of Creation Club content, over 500 bits of content to be exact, including dungeons, quests, spells & weapons and a heck load more…this goes for current content as well as any new content.
Also, and this is across all Skyrim platforms, if you already own Skyrim Special Edition or end up getting your hands on it in the future, you will get free access to three Creation Club pieces; Survival Mode, Fishing, and Saints & Seducers.
Yes, you read that right, after almost 10 years of Skyrim we will finally be able to fish. Instead of flailing about in the water, trying to aim into the depths with your bow, or even Dragon Shouting at a body of water, we will actually be able to whip out a fishing pole for a tranquil session of fishing.
Special Edition owners that have upgraded themselves to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, and even Xbox Game Pass subscribers, will get free access to the enhanced version for their respective platforms. Said owners will of course automatically get the option to purchase the Anniversary Edition upgrade to their Special Edition.
What More Can We Expect on Skyrim’s Anniversary?
At least we know that Bethesda is really all-in with us, not only have they made it very clear that they haven’t forgotten about an anniversary, they’re making sure to go all out for this commemorative day to make us feel extra special.
Not only are they giving us a whole new version of one of our all-time favourite games, but we’ve also been given a whole web page dedicated to the 10th Anniversary where we can find all kinds of cool stuff including the Skyrim Museum where you can view worldwide fan art and videos and even submit your own.
That’s not all though, to top it all off there will be a concert held on the release date, 11th of November 2021, by the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices Choir taking place at the Alexandra Palace Theatre (details also found on the 10th Anniversary web page).
