Spider-Man Joining Marvel’s Avengers Exclusively On PlayStation

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will be joining the team of Marvel’s Avengers in a new DLC set to be released only for PlayStation.

Crystal Dynamics is only set to release the Marvel’s Avengers on the 2nd of September this year but they have already announced their second DLC as a post-launch.

Spider-Man is the second announced DLC after Hawkeye was revealed last week during the War Table Stream.

On the PlayStation Blog, the Associate Art Director, Jeff Adams has said about the creation of the DLC and this unique team-up:

“To make sure this team-up goes smoothly, Vince Napoli, our Lead Combat Designer, is hard at work making Spider-Man just as great on the sticks as he is on the page.  This means making sure our hero moves and fights like he should, no matter which one of our War Zones he finds himself in.  When he’s arcing through the air on his web line, we want you to feel graceful and light, and be able to utilize a variety of web configurations and gadgets to enhance your traversal.  Spider-Man’s impressive acrobatic abilities will complement the experience, allowing you to seamlessly transition from navigation to combat.”

Fans will be able to customize their Spider-man in the way they choose. You can level him up using the points you gain to enhance your abilities in battle and in the Overworld. Whether you are a Melee based fighter or long-range battling is more your bag than you can choose to level him up accordingly.

Spider-Man Joining Marvel's Avengers Exclusively On PlayStation

As mentioned in my previous article, there will be six base characters namely: Ms. Marvel, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, and Iron Man. In addition to these, you will now be able to add new characters for free as part of Crystal Dynamics’ post-launch plans.

Spider-Man will be added to the Marvel’s Avengers roster for free to owners of the base game on PlayStation.

Regarding Spider-Mans proposed new abilities. The PlayStation Blog had this to say:

“Players are going to face the world’s most dangerous threats together, using Spider-Man’s innate powers… boosted with a little help from his new friends. Partnering with the Avengers gives Spider-Man complete access to the impressive technology available to the team, such as custom web shooter-based technology from Hank Pym, SHIELD, Stark Industries, and more.  And by constructing the perfect gear and skills combinations, you’ll get the chance to live your Super Hero dreams through your ideal Spider-Man.”

Exciting news for fans as they now get to enjoy all Spider-Man’s abilities and some extra ones thanx to the new technologies he will have access to in-game.

The Spider-Man and Hawk-eye DLC’s will be dropped sometime post-launch of the base game in September.
