A team of former Telltale developers is working on the upcoming Star Trek game.

The game was first announced at the 2021 game awards and was set to be released in the first half of this year.

Dramatic Labs, a studio founded by former Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner and other Telltale veterans, is developing Star Trek: Resurgence and the trailer looks very much like a Telltale game. The game is being published by none other than Epic Games.

The official Game trailer for Star Trek: Resurgence:

Star Trek: Resurgence is an interactive narrative video game set in the classic sci-fi universe that presents a unique story through a choice-driven adventure.

The plot is set in the aftermath of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s events. Players will take on the roles of first officer Jara Rydek and engineering ensign Carter Diaz as they try to solve a sinister mystery involving two civilizations on the verge of war.

Players will be immersed in the Star Trek universe, interacting with new and recurring characters through a range of dialogue options and action games to shape the plot.

Iconic Star Trek character Ambassador Spock.

Spock is undoubtedly the most famous figure in the Star Trek universe, and his function as an ambassador is crucial in this gameplay clip. Ambassador Spock briefs the player on a dispute between a few alien cultures, as well as the hassles that come with dealing with such a volatile scenario. As a result, the “action” here is primarily diplomatic rather than explosive or firefight-based

The video depicts the game’s narrative aspect as well as the player’s choices, which will definitely have serious ramifications in the tale if the player makes the wrong decision.

First officer Jar Rydeck

Resurgence will have two playable characters, with gameplay moving between them throughout the game, but it will be unlike other Telltale games in one important way: it will not be distributed in episodic form, but rather as a single, huge story.

Dramatic Labs is expected to divulge additional information later this year since the game is set to release in 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Store, according to IGN. This appears to be a change from the original spring 2022 release window.
