Starfield was meant to arrive early this year but has now been delayed once more to the 6th of September.
This year, fans had been eagerly anticipating the release of Starfield, a highly anticipated upcoming ARPG.
The game was meant to be released in November last year and then early this year but it has now been announced that we can expect another delay that will stretch to later in the year. The new release date is set to be the 6th of September 2023.
With this news also comes the news that the “promised Deep dive” will be happening on the 11th of June.
In a statement announcing the release date, game director Todd Howard said:
“We have poured ourselves into this game and even I’m surprised how much we can pour. It is large. We’re playing the game all the time. The game has many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from us, but it’s also a very unique experience.”
The new release date was announced via a short video presented by Howard who didn’t actually address the reason behind the delay.
The official steamstore overview states:
“The year is 2330. Humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. From humble beginnings as a space miner, you will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy – and navigate the vast expanse of the Settled Systems in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.”
Starfield will now be available on the 6th of September for Microsoft Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
Although fans have already experienced delays surrounding the game this is a blow to those excited about the release of this space exploration ARPG.
