Starfield To Be Xbox Exclusive

Starfield-To-Be-Xbox-Exclusive

The upcoming Space Epic being developed by Bethesda has been confirmed to be an Xbox exclusive.

E3 is happening right now and among the numerous tidbits of gaming news being unveiled during the event, it was confirmed yesterday that Starfield will be exclusively available for Xbox consoles on launch of the game next year. Eventually making its way to PC. The game won’t however be coming to Xbox One, PS4, or PS5.

The news comes from the official teaser trailer that was leaked by The Washington Post ahead of the Bethesda/Xbox livestream. We now know that this exciting new Space RPG will be released on the 11th of November 2022.

The leaked clip also reveals that when Starfield comes, it will be playable on the cloud, allowing you to stream the game on your phone or tablet using Xbox Game Pass.

Another nugget of information disclosed was that Starfield will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the very first day of its release. Also, there is no sign of Tom Cruise who was rumoured to be part of the cast of the upcoming title and this was officially denied by game director Todd Howard himself.

The game is described as a “wholly new, next-generation first-person experience set in an entirely new space-themed world.” The game was officially trademarked on the 13th of September 2013, but the game wasn’t officially announced until E3 2018 along with The Elder Scrolls 6.

The reason for this Xbox exclusivity is probably due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda which was announced in September of 2020 for $7.5 billion.

Starfield To Be Xbox Exclusive

Earlier this year Kim Ryan from Sony Interactive said that he “looks forward to finding out if Bethesda titles like Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released on PS5”.

It is not certain if the game and others that are exclusive to Xbox will remain so as Bethesda’s Todd Howard previously said: “it would be “hard to imagine” titles like The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield being console exclusives.” Which suggests an eventual cross platform move.

You can expect a full unveiling of Starfield at the Xbox and Bethesda games showcase, which begins at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. UK. The program is scheduled to last for 90 minutes.
