What’s better than plonking yourself down on a heap of pillows to catch a quick nap? How about being a tiny furry ninja with an even tinier sidekick who plonks themselves on a heap of pillows for a nap?
In 2020 a trailer was released showing a stray kitty wandering the somewhat desolate alleys of a city, however, there may have been a few subtle hints at this a few years prior in the form of GIFs. Yesterday BlueTwelve Studio threw us a little treat during the Annapurna Interactive showcase with a short gameplay clip, further confirming the development of this adorable third-person (third-cat?) adventure simulation game to be released in 2022 on PS4, PS5, and PC.
What Can We Expect?
Starting off as an injured, lonesome cat who has been separated from his family, you find yourself wandering through the neon-lit, futuristic, Kowloon Walled City on a quest to reunite with your clowder (interesting titbit, a “clowder” is a group of cats)
With humans clearly being long gone, humanoid robots are the current inhabitants that you will be interacting with…or possibly avoiding…along with a few other mysterious little critters, like the Zurks.
You’ll be able to have friendly interactions with most of the robots, have a good stretch while sinking your claws into the couch, being able to navigate the mostly open-world environment with catlike agility, and finding puddles of rainwater to quench your thirst (will you also be able to find little cat snacks and food sources? Will eating and drinking be a part of your survival? It would surely add to the immersive feel of a stray cats’ life, so let’s hope so)
Using your cat abilities, you will be solving puzzles and obstacles, thwarting your enemies, and just having a plain old good time with all of the nitty-gritty kitty extras that B12 Studio has included for a real feline feel.
At some point, you will also come across a tiny drone named B-12 (see what they did there?) who will join you on your adventures. You will be able to control your newfound buddy with the backpack harness that you’ll be wearing. B-12 will help you to communicate with the androids more effectively, defeating enemies, picking up items, and interacting with the environment.

Stray gameplay clip:
It seems that there won’t be a day/night cycle, given the sort of atmosphere they’re creating with it being a more gloomily fluorescent-lit world. However, exploration is one of the main elements which leads us to say that you should make good use of your keen cat senses to sniff out the bits of lore that have been hidden throughout the levels.
Don’t be fooled by the concept of this development though, it will take a diligent player to suss out some of the smaller details as not everything will be made obvious.
On that note, this game seems like the purr-fect escape from the real world and all of the usual games that we indulge ourselves in.
