The news is in that developer Take-Two is currently working on three new remasters/remakes.
This comes after the release of Take-Two’s Q1 earnings call for FY2022, the publisher gave a broad presentation about its pipeline for the next two fiscal years.
Take-Two has three remakes/remasters planned for next year, but it has now been revealed that there are three more that have yet to be disclosed.
The three remakes/remasters that are already public knowledge include Grand Theft Auto 5: Expanded and Enhanced and Kerbal Space Program for current-gen systems, plus a standalone version of GTA 5’s fan-favourite Grand Theft Auto Online.
Take-Two has stated that it is working on “iterations of previously released titles,” however it is unclear which titles are being considered. There were rumours circulating that there would be a remake of Grand Theft Auto 3, as well as its spinoffs Vice City and San Andreas this year, these are still unsubstantiated though.

Take-Two has been releasing games at a breakneck pace in recent years, with ambitions to deliver 62 titles by 2024, and these remakes/remasters fits in with that schedule.
Take-Two is the parent company of 2K, Ghost Story Games, Rockstar Games, and T2 Mobile Games, among others, thus this should offer us an idea as to which remakes/remasters will be released since they might include any of the companies’ existing standalone games or franchises.
Could it be Red Dead Redemption 2 enhanced version? Or maybe Bioshock or even GTA V which would all benefit from a reboot as they are all very popular games with massive fan bases.
Don’t forget that Take-Two has said it would be announcing an “exciting new franchise” later this month and plan to release it before the end of the current fiscal year in March of 2022. This title is described as “Cthulhu meets Saints Row”.There was no other news on this new proposed franchise but as the Gamescom digital event is scheduled for this month it is more than likely this event that will reveal more news on the “new franchise”.
So, for the time being, we can only assume and wonder which of our favourite games may receive a remaster/remake, and we will, of course, keep you updated on the latest developments on this exciting subject, so stay tuned.
