The Annual Game Awards are happening on the 8th of December 2022 and there will be a lot of excitement to look forward to.

The Game Awards is happening on the 8th of December this year and will once again be hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Geoff is the creator and producer of The Game Awards which was founded in 2014. He will host the event to an invited audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The preshow ceremony will be hosted by Sydnee Goodman and live-streamed across more than 40 digital platforms.

This year’s nominations have been selected by a global jury of more than 100 media publications and seem to be dominated by Sony Interactive Entertainment. With 20 nominations across its portfolio of games, Sony Interactive is the most nominated publisher.

With 11 nominations each, Nintendo and Annapurna Interactive tie for second place. Namco has an impressive 8 nominations across the 30 awards categories.

The two games dominating the nominations so far seem to be God Of War: Ragnarok and Elden Ring with ten and seven nominations respectively.

God Of War: Ragnarok

God Of War: Ragnarok’s nominations include Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, two in Best Performance, Best Action/Adventure, and Innovation In Accessibility.

Elden Ring’s nominations include Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, and Best RPG.

Surprisingly Stray has the third-largest number of nominations earning 6 nominations in total.

Voting for this event is ongoing from the official site and will officially end on the 7th of December 2022.

The Game Awards is also a huge source of Game announcements, new trailers, etc. Last year’s awards saw the announcement of Star Wars Eclipse, Alan Wake 2, Wonder Woman, and a lot more.
