“The speed at which we’ve worked together is really impressive”
Xbox and Activision Blizzard have only been one company for a little over a month, at least officially, but the two companies appear to be integrating quickly. At a recent summit, Xbox CFO Tim Stuart discussed the team’s integration with ActiBlizz and how the process is progressing.
Stuart mentioned how quickly the teams merged during their first month or so together when discussing the acquisition:
“Thankfully we both talk a gaming language and even the few months since we’ve been an entity, the speed of which we’ve integrated and the speed at which we’ve worked together is really impressive.”
Continuing on that theme, the Xbox executive discussed the primary reasons for the merger’s approval in the first place. Much of Microsoft’s reasoning appears to be based on the expertise that Activision Blizzard has within its development teams.
“At the highest level, it’s leveraging what Activision is so good at, which is consoles, and PC, and mobile… How do we take that great DNA, make it an accelerant to the IP that we have, leverage the great assets that they have and the expertise that they have?”
Things appear to be moving along nicely at the moment, which is great news for Xbox fans. Much of the community is eagerly awaiting ActiBlizz Game Pass news and other such announcements, so the sooner the merging occurs, the better for Xbox fans. Who knows, maybe we’re in for a treat sooner than we thought after Sarah Bond’s cryptic tweet today.
