A Total War Saga: Troy is the newest installment in the extremely popular franchise and will be set in the Bronze age of the Mediterranean. Various Greek and Trojans factions will be pitted against each other in deadly combat.
In a unique marketing move, Creative Assembly and Sega have announced that the game will be exclusively available on the Epic store for twelve months and will be free to keep-as long as you claim it within the first 24 hrs.
The developers are aware that a lot of people are not fond of the Epic store exclusivity of the game, and on the games official webpage, they acknowledge this by saying: “While we know that some of you won’t like the Epic Games Store exclusivity, we feel like this is a great opportunity for us in a lot of ways, and we’re hoping that you’ll take some time to hear us out and for us to answer what some of the questions we think you might have. Right now, this is a one-time, one-year exclusive deal for TROY. We’ve always said that Saga titles allow us to experiment, and this is an experiment on a grand scale. TROY seemed like a good game to try this out with, especially as pre-orders aren’t live on Steam yet, so no one’s already put money into a store they’ll have to wait 12 extra months for it to appear on.”
Since this is only a “Saga” title, it will be a lot smaller in size than the other games in this franchise, but it will still offer fans many hours of entertainment, especially if they are interested in this particular time period which will be a first for the series.
This monumental title will be available on the Epic store on the 13th of August this year and for the first 24 hours, you can have it for free.
