Massive entertainment has begun the development of a brand new installment of Tom Clancy’s The Division.
The announcement went mostly unnoticed as it was buried in a corporate press release announcing a new executive producer for “The Division” brand.
The new executive producer for “The Division” franchise will be Julian Gerighty who previously worked as creative director for Star Wars Outlaws.
The press release stated:
Ubisoft did mention that Gerighty will stay on Star Wars Outlaw through its launch “to ensure the game meets the intended creative vision and provides a great experience for players”.
Gerighty said in the press release:
After becoming a part of Massive Entertainment and the successful release of the original Tom Clancy’s The Division in 2016, Gerighty took on the role of creative director for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
In addition to Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, Gerighty will also supervise various other projects within the Tom Clancy’s The Division universe, such as Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence and Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is a highly popular franchise with the first installment being released in 2016 and the second installment The Division 2 released in 2019.
The Division is played from a third-person perspective and unfolds in a near-future New York City following a viral pandemic.
Its sequel, The Division 2, continues the story in Washington D.C., and revolves around an agent from the Strategic Homeland Division working to rebuild the city.
Since this is such significant news for fans of The Division, we will be closely monitoring any updates related to the franchise and the ongoing development of Division 3.
