The game got its largest PC Patch to date yesterday as well as its Xbox debut.
Developer Fatshark has rolled out the largest patch for Warhammer 40,000 Darktide to date.
Patch 13 is titled as a Class Overhaul revamp and introduces a multitude of alterations to the fundamental aspects of the game.
Every class will now feature an entirely distinct skill tree filled with fresh perks and abilities. Today, the update has been released, substituting the previous, relatively basic progression system with a more adaptable range of abilities and bonuses. Furthermore, the patch encompasses a substantial list of balance adjustments, extensive enough to necessitate two separate posts on the Darktide forums.
Patch #13 for Darktide is completely eliminating the Feats system. Instead, from now on, every class will have its own Talent Tree. Upon levelling up, players will earn Talent Points, with a maximum cap of 30 points. These points can then be freely distributed to customize and reset their Talent Trees as desired.
At first, characters will acquire a Baseline Ability, Blitz, and Aura, all of which can be adjusted using the Talent Tree system. Despite these new build possibilities, it’s important to note that old builds from the Feats system can still be replicated.
The previous Feats have been distributed among individual Talent Trees, enabling players to gradually unlock them as they progress.
Based on recent community test feedback, the patch provides extensive balancing modifications to both characters and opponents and tweaks weaponry. Additionally, it fixes a number of issues and offers overall enhancements. The update also contains improvements to the quality of life, such as a new controller options area. Because of how extensive this update is, Fatshark posted not one, but two forum posts to cover everything.
They’re making these changes to offer the best possible version of Darktide to both existing PC players and newcomers on Xbox. The game was just released yesterday for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, it’s Fatshark’s means of delivering on its January commitment to substantially enhance Darktide. This followed what some perceived as a weak launch.
