Here are the games that you’ll get if you are an Xbox Live Gold Subscriber.
June is on our doorstep and with a new month comes new games from Xbox Games With Gold. This month we have four very different games for subscribers to sink their teeth into.
Among the four games o offer, we have some Superhero action in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Parkour your way through the Colourful Platformer that is The King’s Bird. Hack and slash your way through Shadows: Awakening and last but not least play alone or with a friend in the classic fighter NeoGeo Battle Coliseum.
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum (1st of June to the 15h of June):
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is a 2-on-2 tag team fighting game that features characters from several SNK and ADK titles. While the two-player game system is similar to most tag-team systems of other games, the single player system is unusual.
The game’s single play is more like a survival battle, where the player must beat enemy after enemy as long as possible. However, the game gives the player 300 seconds, and when time-out occurs, instead of win or lose, the player will face the boss (depending on how well they perform). Only at this point will time-out determine the victor.
The King’s Bird (1st of June to the 30th of June):
In this award-winning artistic title, enjoy a seamless platform adventure with physics-based movement. Escape into a world kept secret by a tyrant, and discover the truth about your freedom. The King’s Bird is an artistic, momentum-based game that seamlessly combines precision-platforming with physics-based gliding.
A new yet easily accessible take on the precision-platforming genre.
Injustice: God’s Among Us (16th of June to the 30th of June):
Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting video game based upon the fictional universe of DC Comics.
Players select one of several characters from the DC Universe (consisting of both villains and heroes), to engage in combat, aiming to knock out their opponent. The game is set in a 2.5D environment: while character models and backgrounds are rendered in three-dimensional graphics, the characters are restricted to fight within a two-dimensional space.
Injustice builds upon several aspects from NetherRealm Studios’ previous title, Mortal Kombat, including its controls, game mechanics, narrative-driven campaign, and online functionality.
The storyline is set in a parallel universe within the DC Comics Multiverse. In this reality, Superman becomes a tyrant and establishes a new world order after the Joker tricks him into killing Lois Lane and destroying Metropolis with a nuclear bomb.
In an effort to stop this, Batman summons counterparts of the League’s members from another universe to join his insurgency and end the totalitarian regime.
Shadows: Awakening (16th of June to the 15th of July):
Shadows: Awakening is the new adventure in the Heretic Kingdoms saga. After the members of the secret council known as the Penta Nera are assassinated, their souls are consumed by the Devourers – evil demons which possess the ability to absorb the memories and personalities of the souls they acquire and materialize them as their puppets.
Re-emerging into the mortal realm once again, the demonic Penta Nera continue their quest for power and immortality, but at what cost? A unique, isometric single-player RPG with real-time tactical combat.
You take control of a demon summoned from the Shadow Realm – the Devourer – to consume the souls of long-dead heroes and embark on an epic adventure with challenging gameplay, a gripping storyline, and enchanting graphics.
Do you have the focus and wits to master the world of the Heretic Kingdoms? Gather your party, control powerful heroes, and use their skills to your advantage. But who is in charge… the demon, or the souls that it has devoured? It’s up to you to either thwart a major threat and save the world, or to plunge it into complete disaster…
