The subscription service could possibly be getting a major price hike soon.
For those who aren’t aware Xbox Live Gold is a monthly subscription service that lets you play games online and comes with special bonuses. According to the website “As an Xbox Live Gold Member, you get the most advanced multiplayer, bonus games, and exclusive member discounts in Microsoft Store. With Xbox Live Gold, you can stay connected with friends, family, and Xbox Live members around the world.”
According to a recent post on Reddit, Xbox Live Gold on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S could be getting a price increase in the near future.
Currently, a One month subscription will cost you $10 for a three month subscription you will pay $25 and a 6 month subscription will set you back $40. A 12 month Xbox Live Gold subscription used to be 60$ but unfortunately, this was discontinued last year.
The post showed an image of a 6-month Xbox Live Gold subscription card that has a price tag on it for almost $60, which is $20 more than what the current price is.
It might be a fake yes but it’s not the only one that has shown its face online recently, which adds to the credibility.
An Xbox Live subscription already costs more than a PlayStation Plus subscription which will set you back $60 for a 12 month subscription. Could it be that Xbox is going to make that price gap even bigger?
If this image is anything to go by then an Xbox Live Gold subscription will cost double that of what it cost this time last year. That is a significant increase and is sure to be the start of some serious backlash from Xbox users.
If this is true it will also drive up Xbox Game Pass Ultimate prices, which comes with Xbox Live Gold and is currently only $15 a month.
Microsoft has not yet commented on these images nor whether the prices will indeed see an increase, but as soon as we know, you will so stay tuned for the latest on this story.
